If You Believe In Yourself Everything Is Possible
Not only are many people not taught how to believe in oneself, but some people —including myself—were instructed outright not to believe in oneself. One of my client share this that she faced with her family like how many times she heard things like, “You worth nothing!” or “You will become nothing!” She stills has this in her brain.
She explained she has flourishing business, a devoted partner, and the confidence that she can accomplish anything if she set her mind to it. Was it simple? No way! Was it worthwhile? Indeed! You’ve heard the saying “Everything is possible if you believe in yourself,” and you do, but you don’t believe in yourself.
How do you deceive your mind into thinking that what you do is the best you can accomplish and that who you are is sufficient? I’ll share the advice that helped me go from thinking “You’re worthless” to “I can accomplish anything/have anything I want.”
“Everything seems impossible until it’s done”
I suppose this would be one of those blogs where I share a quotation after another and discuss it, but for years, this particular remark by Albert Einstein has been a permanent fixture on my computer’s desktop. It makes me think of the time when people believed that humans could never fly until the Wright brothers demonstrated otherwise in December of 1903.
Sarah Thomas, a breast cancer survivor, made history in 2019 when she became the first woman to swim the English Channel four times straight! In 1978, Reinhold Messner became the first person to ascend Everest without the use of oxygen, and in 1964, a 17-year-old student named Randy Gardner was able to remain awake for 11 days and 25 minutes.
Now, just after you read all these examples, I would like to ask you this: Do you think that believing in yourself is more challenging than staying awake for 11 days or climbing Everest?
I realize you have to have confidence in yourself before you can accomplish all of those things, and I’m not suggesting you rush to the English Channel during your lunch hour. But I’m asking you to be open to all of the options that are in front of you.
Particularly for the person who needs to start thinking that you are capable of doing whatever is on your mind and that you are worth it.
“Don’t let someone else’s opinion of you become your reality”
One of the most inspirational personal development experts you will ever come across is Les Brown, the creator of the aforementioned quotation. If you need further evidence, check out one of his well-known talks from 1996 in Atlanta. One of the most important things you will ever learn is that other people’s opinions of you are based on what they perceive of you as a result of their own experiences and perceptions of themselves. Because it is their reality rather than yours, everything is different.
People will always judge your capacity to accomplish anything based on their own ability to do it, regardless of how they were raised.Furthermore, the only conclusion that can be made if they don’t think they can succeed is that you also can’t. Only if you believe in that opinion more than you believe in yourself is it legitimate.
“Just because you couldn’t do it yesterday doesn’t mean you can’t do it today”
I implore everyone to write this Robin Sharma quotation on a sizable piece of paper and pin it to the wall next to their bed. Just give it some thought. When you were four years old, you most likely couldn’t tie your own shoelaces, but by the time you were a year old, you most likely learned how. When you were fifteen, you most likely didn’t know how to drive, but today you probably do it every day. Moreover, on your first day of work, you had no idea how to do your job appropriately. You can probably even train new hires now, though. Your life is an example of how you can acquire a wide range of talents even if you.
However, it’s likely that you can now even train new hires. Your life serves as an illustration of how you can pick up a great deal of skills even if you have no prior experience with them.
Your life is an example of how you can learn to do so many different things even if you had zero knowledge and experience prior. Why ignore the facts in front of you?
The same goes for absolutely everything around you – it is not that “you can’t” do something but “you didn’t find the way yet”, and that makes a huge difference.
“No one else can live your life for you. No one else can succeed for you!”
The passage above is taken from The Greatest Salesman in the World, written by Og Mandino, which is one of my all-time favorite novels. It was the first selfdevelopment book I ever read and one of the few that I return to time and time again. The book provided me with the tools to combat my stepmother’s harmful influence and force me to consider her assessment of me, which had come to define who I was.
We frequently refuse to accept accountability for the negative events in our lives as well as for our errors and shortcomings. The shocking thing is that a lot of individuals don’t accept accountability for their achievements as well.
And it’s not about the success that already happened, but the one that is about to happen. People wait for “luck“, “right moment,” and “a mentor” to do something for themselves and by themselves.
However, whether we like it or not, life continues on and the days pass.It is your responsibility to seize each day; put your fears aside and go about living your life.
“Never feel shame for trying and failing for he who has never failed is he who has never tried”
Isn’t it true that fears are the main focus? The main thing that prevents us from believing in ourselves and pursuing our goals is our fear of acting or not doing. It only gets harder to take action once we start asking ourselves, “What if I fail?” It makes me think of a hypothetical story about a philosophy student who failed his last exam. His exam papers had just one word inscribed at the top: Why?
The student looked at his colleagues and noticed them hustling and writing page after page of explanations, putting their knowledge on the paper. The first 15 minutes of the exam went by, and he still had nothing. Then, he wrote one sentence below the first one and gave the papers in. He was picked to be the top best result from his class. What did he write?
“Why not?”
What if you don’t fail? What if you fail but learn a lesson? What if you fail and try again and again? What if you don’t sabotage yourself? What if you aren’t afraid? What if you don’t fail?
Instead of Conclusion
I do not believe that all it takes to begin believing in yourself is reading one post on the internet. But I am aware that your life is made up of little daily actions, the ocean is composed of tiny droplets, and a beach is just a collection of little sand grains. And it’s a constructive action step if this post inspired you. The final word of wisdom I will impart to you is the power of choice.
Henry Ford once said, “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t… you are right.” What will it be, exactly?
